Are you prepared for an economical collapse, natural disaster, terrorist attack, anarchy, or complete fallout?  Or should I ask you this- Are you willing to watch a loved one die because you were unable to provide for their basic needs- water, food, protection, and/or shelter?  These are some tough and scary realizationsthat could happen!  ARE YOU PREPARED?

“You yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night… But you brethren, are not in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night or darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.” 1 Thessalonians 5:2-6

We are in the greatest recession we have experienced since The Great Depression!  This recession can be seen since the rise of: food, gas, deficit, and spending money that we don’t have.

The approximate value of one dollar in 1895 would be about $25.00 by today’s standards; this can be determined using one of several inflation calculators on the Internet. Food prices are expected to rise three to four percent this year, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, which is attributed to a terrible Midwest drought in 2012 that withered crops in the field.  Our national debt is 16 trillion and counting.  Other factors contributing to this recession is our 10+ war ordeal in the Mideast and the oil shortages.

There will be wars and rumors of wars between nations and kingdoms (Matt.24, 6-7; Mark 13,7-8; Luke, 21,9-10).

We are experiencing severe natural disasters that are occurring around the globe on a weekly basis if not daily.   Natural disasters come in all shapes and sizes ranging from: tornadoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, wildfires, hurricanes, droughts, etc.  Which all of these have a great impact and intertwine with our society/economy.

Flooding in Arequipa, Peru
-Six fatalities reported from severe flooding in Arequipa region of Peru.
-Seven hours continuous rainfall destroyed hundreds of homes.

Winter Storm “Nemo” in US and Canada
-Six fatalities reported from Winter Storm Nemo in US and Canada.
-More than 30 inches of snows have been reported in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York and Maine.

7.0 very strong aftershocks in Santa Cruz Islands (@ 53 km depth) with epicenter located 23 km S of Lata (Solomon Islands). Magnitude 8.0 Tsunami earthquake in Solomon Islands -killed several people.

hurricane

Hurricane Sandy -killed 97 people

“In 2005, Hurricane Katrina revealed that a catastrophic natural disaster could produce a chaotic and disorganized response by all levels of government, causing large-scale human suffering. A decade after 9/11, the nation is not yet prepared for a truly catastrophic disaster.”- http://knowledge.wharton.upenn.edu/

The first sorrows will be in the form of calamities: ‘famines, pestilences and earthquakes in divers places’, fearful sights and great signs from heaven (Matt.24,7-8; Mark, 13,8; Luke 21,11).

“…and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.” Luke 21:11)

And the list goes on…

Could another catastrophic terrorist attack (foreign or domestic) happen on American soil?  I absolutely think so, WE ARE NOT 100% protected from evil!  The “death,” of Osama Bin Laden does not mean we are out of the clear.  Could terrorist be planning an even bigger attack that would devastate our country to the point of no return? I think they are as we speak!  Terrorists having many means of warfare, which include, but not limited to: Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical.   I believe that terrorist could disrupt our entire structural system resulting in complete Anarchy:

a: absence of government
b: a state of lawlessness or political disorder due to the absence of governmental authority
c: a utopian society of individuals who enjoy complete freedom without government

terror

We see many Americans preparing (Prepping)- stockade on food, bunkers, water, guns, ammunition, medical supplies to become self-sufficient in case of a catastrophic event.  Are they crazy? Or are we, the ignorant ones?  I am not a full-scale prepper as I would like to be, I don’t have the necessary finances, but I do have the essentials to give myself a head start- “bug out bag,”- fire starter, knives, guns for personal protection and for hunting, tent (a form of shelter), basic medical, etc.

gas mask

Some common “What ifs,” to think about.

What if…

There was no electricity- out the door would go: heat, clean water, food, medication, communication, GPS- no face book or ipads- I cant live without that!  We would all be resorted back to the Stone Age.  We as Americans are so dependent with our high level of needs, could we live like our great ancestors?

Some questions we all need to ask ourselves personally:

-How would I feed my kids/family?

-How would I get CLEAN WATER?

-How would I maintain good hygiene and overall health?

-How would I keep my kids/family from freezing to death?

-How would I protect myself/family?

To prevent falling victim to these questions and saying I wished I would have done something start by; educating yourself-reading articles about basic needs of survival (how to skin an animal, what kind of plants are edible), have basic supplies on hand-flashlight, water, perishable food, candles, fire starters, knives, rope, guns, etc.

And the most important of all of these preparations is to prepare you soul and know that God is in control.  Pray and turn from your wicked ways!

“Another reason for right living is that you know how late it is; time is running out. Wake up, for the coming of our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.” – Romans 13:11

But of that day and [that] hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. -Mark 13:32
